Welcome to Amanda and Alex’s Real Wedding Story held at The Waterview in Monroe, Connecticut. They describe their wedding day firsthand from our interview.
When was your wedding? 6/29/2013
What made you choose your wedding date? I’m a teacher and this was the first weekend of summer. I also always dreamed of being a June bride.
Who was your florist? Flowers by Danielle
Who was your entertainment? Alex from Jimmy Dee
What was the weather like, and was it what you hoped for? How did it impact your day? We had an absolutely beautiful day. It was 80 degrees and sunny. Up until the day of the wedding however, they were predicting rain showers. We truly lucked out!
Where did you have your ceremony? Saint Patrick’s Stone Church in Yorktown Heights, New York.
Where was the reception held? The Waterview in Monroe, Connecticut.
What do you remember most about the Ceremony? I remember the moment that I saw my husband. All of the nerves immediately subsided. I also remember just looking around at all of the people in attendance and thinking how blessed we were to be loved by so many.
Besides the “getting married ” part, what was the most vivid memory of the day? (Groom’s perspective) Watching my beautiful wife walk down the aisle.
What ended up being your favorite photo? Wow, we had so many! I would have to say that we loved the black and white sparkler photo, as well as the photo with my veil in the air on the bridge.
Any advice to offer new brides and grooms to-be? Just enjoy every moment of the planning. The wedding is here and gone before you know it!
Other Comments you would like to add… We just feel so blessed to have Studio1923 photograph our wedding! Thank you Jerome and Amanda for capturing all the special moments for us!
What was the total guest count? Why did you pick the number of guests you did? Was it hard to get to that number? Our total guest count was 173. We invited 205, but we were so happy with the number we ended up with. It was large enough to have everyone there, but it was still intimate.
What made your reception personalized to your own unique vision and expectations? We tried to really make our wedding personal. Each table number was a picture of my husband and I doing something unique throughout the year. Our tables were named for one of the “essentials for a fairy tale wedding.” We came up with seventeen different “essentials” that we felt would lead to a successful and happy marriage. In addition, the ambiance was soft and romantic which was the true vision of our day.
What part of the day do you want to do again and why? EVERYTHING!
What regrets, (if any) do you have about the planning of your wedding and your decisions leading up to the day? The only regret I have is worrying as much as I did. Everything turned out beautiful.
Wedding dress and veil from Pronovias. Shoes by Joan and David. Suits by Vera Wang.
Who did your hair? Michael Robert Salon
Who did your makeup? Meredith Hayman
What was the funniest thing that your remember happening? After we were done admiring the ballroom, we were escorted downstairs for our grand entrance. On the way down the stairs, I tripped and fell down five stairs! I managed to catch myself and once I did, I looked up to see if Jerome had (hopefully!) caught it on camera. Unfortunately, he hadn’t but being clumsy is my claim to fame so it just made our wedding day that much more “us”.
Besides the “getting married” part, what was the most vivid memory of your wedding day? (bride’s perspective) Oh man, how can I just choose one?!? I suppose I would have to say that the most vivid memory was our first dance and how all of our guests were surrounding us as we danced across the dance floor. It was so special.
What was the most memorable part of your photography experience with Studio1923? (From engagement all the way till now) Just how amazing the entire staff at Studio1923 was! They captured every emotion and made it so we could relive the day over and over again. THANK YOU!
Where did you take your honeymoon? And how did you like it? We took our honeymoon directly after our wedding. We traveled to Hawaii and the islands of Maui and Oahu. It was a once in a lifetime experience and we are so blessed to have had the opportunity to visit one of the most beautiful places in the world!
