Ashlyn and Michael | Real Wedding Story

Welcome to Ashlyn and Michael’s Real Wedding Story held at The New Haven Lawn Club in New Haven, Connecticut.  They describe their wedding day firsthand from our interview.

When was your wedding?  9/1/2012

What made you choose your wedding date?  Labor day weekend 2010 is when we saw each other at the beach after over a year of not talking after our breakup and rekindle.

Wedding dress designer is Priscilla of Boston
Tuxes are from Modern Formals

Who did your hair?   Evelyn Fonseca

Who did your makeup?  Heather Decelles

What was the weather like, and was it what you hoped for? How did it impact your day? It was a gorgeous day out. Sunny and 80 degrees. It was exactly what I had hoped for. Made for an easy day taking pictures.

Who was the florist?  Gail Kamm

What was the total guest count? Why did you pick the number of guests you did? Was it hard to get to that number?  The total guest count was 149. The New Haven Lawn Club only holds up to 200 people so we were limited. We invited 200 so I say we had a good turn out.

Where did you have your Ceremony? Saints Peter and Paul Church in Waterbury, Connecticut.

What was the funniest thing that your remember happening? One of our bridesmaid & groomsman came down the aisle during the ceremony on the opposites sides of what they should have but played it off pretty well.

What do you remember most about the Ceremony? Besides being nervous having to walk down the aisle, I remember the beautiful music, all our guest dressed up looking their best, and of course the first glimpse of my handsome husband!

Who was the Officiant? Msgr Coleman

What was the most memorable part of your photography experience with Studio1923? (From engagement all the way till now) Jerome and his assistants made it so easy to get comfortable in front of the camera’s. And just knowing anytime they clicked the camera there would be an amazing photo awaiting!

What part of the day do you want to do again and why?  The reception. New Haven Lawn Club did such an amazing job and I didn’t have to worry about anything going wrong.

What ended up being your favorite photo? I love the picture of me standing at the doorway of the lawn club and Mike standing on the side of the door leaning on the brick.

What regrets, (if any) do you have about the planning of your wedding and your decisions leading up to the day? No regrets at all… wouldn’t have changed a thing!

Where was the Reception held?  The New Haven Lawn Club in New Haven, Connecticut.

What made your reception personalized to your own unique vision and expectations? The lawn club makes it so easy to add your own flair from centerpieces, table linens, chair sashes to the number of candles you want around the place.. It’s whatever you decide.

Any advice to offer new brides and grooms to-be?  Choose Studio1923!
