Today Lucky would have been 11 years old if we didn’t have to put him down a couple years ago. Here’s a link to the post I wrote on his last day. Below is one of my favorite photos of him, taken back in 1998.
Here’s him doing his favorite activity, carrying sticks, and items around the yard at full speed.
Here he is as playful as ever the day before we put him down. He was laying in the sun on the front porch. He would sit by the door waiting for you to let him out, every time it was sunny out.
Here are a few more from puppyhood.
And a great one in his prime
Jerome, this really moved me. As an animal lover these photos are really amazing and gave me an idea of how amazing Lucky was. Thank you so much for sharing these.
Simply wonderful photos. Andy’s FB status reminded me of the day, and I came to your site next hoping you had honored the Lucky Snack. Top photo is a favorite, all shiny & new! He was a GREAT dog.
We miss you Lucky!!! You were the best dog ever!!! Happy Birthday
Hope you had a great birthday wherever you are buddy! I still miss you most every day. Your two brothers are doing very well and remind me of you in so many ways. When you combing the two of them you end up with one “Lucky” it’s too funny. Thanks for all the great memories, and I enjoyed looking through all your photos today. Still Missing You… Jer
What a wonderful tribute and great pictures. He must have been a great dog and quite the ambassador for such a mislabeled breed.
Thanks for sharing guys. Got me all emotional.
Happy Birthday, Lucky Snack!
Thanks for posting these, Jer. I gotta get over there to see his brothers at some point 🙂
Lucky seems like a great dog. (hugs)
awww
Saying goodbye to a beloved pet is one of the hardest things to ever do in life. What a nice tribute you have given Lucky on his birthday Jer.
Man!! What a personal and emotional post (this and the link back) I gotta pull myself together!!
Sending you and Jen a big hug
