Kelly and Andy | Real Wedding Story

Welcome to Kelly and Andy’s Real Wedding Story held at The Coveleigh Club in Rye, New York.  They describe their wedding day firsthand from our interview.

When was your wedding?  11/17/2012

What made you choose your wedding date? Andy and I love the fall- the cool crisp air and of course the change in color of the leaves!!

Who did your hair? Salon Elle in Larchmont, New York

Who did your makeup? Kim Root Designs

Wedding dress was Mikela from Fontanna’s Bridal in Greenwich, Connecticut.  Shoes were Bagley Mishka, handbag was Channel and vintage jewlery  from Consign of The Timesin Miami Beach.  Tuxes were from Ridge Squire.

Who was the florist? Arcadia Floral, Mamaroneck, New York.

What was the weather like, and was it what you hoped for? How did it impact your day? We were very lucky- mid November could go either way however our day was perfect! There was not a cloud in the sky, cool but the sun was out the entire day (almost like an angel was looking over us).

Where did you have your ceremony? Our ceremony was at Saint Gregory the Great Church in Harrison, New York.

Who was your Officiant?  Father John Edison

What do you remember most about the ceremony? Walking down the aisle and seeing Andy standing there with a huge smile on his face.

What was the total guest count? Why did you pick the number of guests you did? Was it hard to get to that number? 225 attendees- and yes the list was the hardest part of planning! I come from a very large family and it’s almost like you have to invite everyone. We also had a lot of friends that we wanted to have share our special day.

Where was the reception held? The Coveleigh Club in Rye, New York.

What made your reception personalized to your own unique vision and expectations? I remember when Andy and I first started dating- sometimes you play 20 questions and one of his questions was ” Beach house or Ski house?” My response of course was beach!  Andy quickly stated “Ski!” and I thought to myself this will never work. Coveleigh was the perfect compromise to the beach/ski house. Views of Long Island Sound was exactly what I wanted and the fireplaces hit home with Andy.

What regrets, (if any) do you have about the planning of your wedding and your decisions leading up to the day? No regret jus wish my Dad was alive to celebrate with us!

What ended up being your favorite photo? Oh my goodness– don’t have a favorite, love them all!

Besides the “getting married” part, what was the most vivid memory of your wedding day? (Bride’s perspective) Walking into the reception as husband and wife.

Besides the “getting married ” part, what was the most vivid memory of the day? (Groom’s perspective) Our first dance as man and wife.

What part of the day do you want to do again and why? Dancing the night away.

Who was the entertainment? Jimmy Dee Music Productions — he had the entire reception up and dancing the entire night!

Where did you take your honeymoon? And how did you like it? Sandals in St. Lucia! We had an amazing relaxing time!
